Virginia, Stand Up For Jesus!
Tomorrow morning, I anticipate being on Capitol Square for the "Save the Chaplains" rally, honoring the six Virginia State Police chaplains who were forced to resign for publicly praying in "Jesus name." Eighty-six Virginia clergy requested that Governor Tim Kaine reinstate the chaplains, but the governor personally refused.
Now, I'm all for having a wall of separation between church and state, but this is just ridiculous.
This event is being put on by Gordon James Klingenschmitt, who had something similar happen to him when he was a U.S. Navy Chaplain. More information on this event can be found at www.prayinjesusname.org
With any luck, I'll have photographs and a write-up posted sometime Saturday evening.
This is not some type of fringe cause, but rather a really big deal.
